Obe Beatriz Nenkimo Nihua is the mother of three sons and one daughter. At 27, she is the eldest of the students. Despite a nearly fatal injury last year, and her daughter's recent illness, Obe still remains dedicated to her education. Obe attends class everyday with her four children by her side. Back at home she cares for them while her husband works at the nearby ecolodge. She is passionate about learning the songs of her elders, and she wants to create a song of her own urging young people to retain their culture and continue fighting to defend the forest.
